Populate Forum Easily & Automatically!

Forum Post Robot can be used to populate multiple forums. Each forum's information is saved in Profile Files. Users need input the information for each forum, save it as a (or multiple) profile file and then list it in the Profile Table.

For each forum, the information is listed at the right side of the Setting Tab:

a) Forum URL: The URL of the forum. The URL could be a folder, but should not be a page. For example, A forum is installed in http://www.srtsoft.com/forum_vb/ , the starting page could be http://www.srtsoft.com/forum_vb/index.php , the Forum URL should be http://www.srtsoft.com/forum_vb , not the starting page.

b) Forum Script: The script which powers the forum.

c) Sub-Forum Name : The Sub-Forum Name that will be posted to. For example, at the below forum, if you want to post to 'Play Station' forum, then the Sub-Forum Name should be Play Station.  Note that, the Sub-Forum name is case sensitive. It should be exact the same as shown in your forum.

d) Admin ID: Administrator's login ID. Forum Post Robot needs it to create the posters' accounts automatically.

e) Admin Password: Administrator's login Password. Forum Post Robot needs it to create the posters' accounts automatically.

f) Query Keyword: The keywords that are related with the sub-forum. If there are more than one keyword inputed, the relation between the keywords are 'AND' . For example, in the above Play Station sub-forum, if the keywords are 'PS2 PS3 PSP', then only messages with all these 3 keywords in it will be used.  If users want to have messages with PS2 or PS3 or PSP, then should use comma between keywords. For example, use 'PS2, PS3, PSP' as query keywords.  For exact match of multi-words keywords, use "_" between each word. For example, use 'PS2_PS3, PSP' as query keywords, it will fetch messages that have keywords "PS2 PS3" or "PSP".

One tip for using good keywords is: go to http://answers.yahoo.com/ , use the keyword to search for questions (there is another box for asking question, don't be confused by that). If there are many new messages shown up, then the keyword is a good keyword.

Another tip is: use multiple profile files. Each profile file includes one keyword for the same forum URL, but with different Fetching and Posting Time. This way, the messages are posted with random time interval for the same forum.

g) Query Category: The category the forum messages are retrieved from.

h) Yahoo Application ID : Yahoo Application ID is needed to retrieve messages from Yahoo Answers. Click the lightning icon, , browser will show the webpage for applying it. Users can apply it directly from https://developer.yahoo.com/wsregapp/index.php . It will need users have a yahoo id to apply for this application id.

i) Signature: Signatures are used at the end of the forum message. It could be simple text or html code. Users can use multiple signatures.  Each signature should be tagged by <Signature> and </Signature>. If multiple signatures are inputted, a random signature will be used from these multiple signatures.

*** Note that,  per Yahoo's Term, 'Powered by Yahoo! Answers' should be shown on the page where the message is. So, if you don't use 'Powered by Yahoo! Answers' in the signature, you should include it at somewhere on the web page where several messages are.

j) Wait Time For Fetching: The time interval Forum Post Robot will retrieve messages from Yahoo. Usually, 120 minutes is a good choice.

k) Wait Time For Posting: The time interval Forum Post Robot will post messages to the sub-forum.

l)  Region: Select the answer regions. Users can select answers from different regions, including Germany, Italy, France, Spain, etc. The messages shown in the forum will be in the local language.
